Since Apple released the lion, many users have been camping with slow MAS (Mac App Store) loading times and most commonly, spinning beach balls of death. It only lasts a few seconds and it always loads, eventually. This is, however, enough to annoy people out of browsing the Mac App Store for their daily app cravings. After some snooping around, I stumbled upon the following solution, which fixed all beach balls from appearing. It definitely optimized the Mac App Store to it’s full speed and potential for me. The drawback is from the method mentioned below is beyond me. Do you know any? Let me know! It’s probably fine as I and many other users have not had any problems after changing this minor setting. I’m still going to note that it’s at your own risk though.
1. Make sure the Mac App Store is not running by quitting the application. (CMD+Q)
3. When in Keychain Access, navigate to Keychain Access -> Preferences (or CMD + , ).
4. In Preferences, navigate to the Certificates tab.
6. Exit Keychain Access (CMD + Q) if you wish and restart the Mac App Store with all it’s speedy glory.
I honestly have no clue why this works, but it did the trick for me. Probably some bug with the Certificate Revocation List spazzing out when the Mac App Store is working with it… Oh well, have fun app storing!
P.S. I have also just updated the Spotify App review due to new updates being pushed through by Spotify. =)
